Welcome to Rumson, NJ, a NYC bedroom community in Monmouth County covering 5 square miles with 7,122 residents. Surrounded by the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers, “The Peninsula” offers access to so many things that the perfect lifestyle demands.
In one day, you can go to the beach, play a round of golf, take a sunset ride on your boat and be at the local theater for an evening show. All this and a mere 45 minute ferry commute to NYC that is not only predictable, but pleasant!
Whatever your vision of the ideal suburb – superior schools, easy commute, good restaurants, art, theater, lifestyle – Rumson has it. But by and large, this little hamlet’s foremost offering is it’s combination of suburban benefits and coastal amenities. All have been awarded the distinction of National Blue Ribbon School and have prepared students for colleges such as Harvard, MIT and Stanford with many securing academic, athletic, arts & theater and various other types of scholarships. There are two private PreK-8 schools located in Rumson, Holy Cross and Rumson Country Day with plenty of private high school options nearby. In addition to the public pre-school program, residents can choose between Ivy Hill pre-school, Holy Cross, Gan Yeladim Early Childhood School and in the are is a wide selection of pre-school choices suited to all styles of learning.

Whether you are soaking up the warm summer sun on the open air top deck, enjoying a Friday evening cocktail at the full service bar with fellow commuters or getting a jump on your day with the on-board hi-speed WiFi, you will quickly realize why people say it’s “the most civilized commute in New York”.
