Florham Park has many community events and activities for children at the local library, playing fields, town camp and rec programs for kids. A staple of any young resident is Imagine That!!!, an interactive children’s museum with imaginative exhibits and hands-on fun for kids. The more athletically inclined head to the roller skating rink for a spin around the rink, food, music, and family fun. Lifetime Athletic is a high-end gym that features a children’s daycare center, summer and school holiday camps, mommy-and-me classes, language, arts, and athletic classes, and traditional gym activities such as swim and gymnastics.


The borough has a plethora of recreational activities and venues for all ages. Some venues include; Florham Park Senior Center, Florham Park Community Center, Florham Park Gazebo amongst many others that offer community activities for residents. For athletic residents, there are plenty of sports and fields to play in. There are soccer fields, tennis courts, the Town Pool, and Craig Keeler Memorial Basketball Courts. Between 1680 and 1700, the English settled in this borough, which was a prime farming area. The borough was incorporated in 1899, and had many different names before being named as Florham Park. The town was named after Florence and Hamilton Twombly. Florence was the granddaughter of Cornelius Vanderbilt, the richest man in America at the time. She and her husband moved to the area and named their 800-acre estate “Florham”, a hybrid of both their names.


Florham Park is home to the New York Jets main headquarters, Atlantic Health Jets Training Center. The Jets hold its daily operations in town and the team practices in Florham Park throughout the year.
